African Feast:
Fifty-five people attended the African Feast, held at the La Trobe University Glenn College Restaurant on 11th of December 2006. View the photos!
Guests feasted on delicious African cuisine –
- roasted lamb in mechoui, served with briks, braaied mealies and zulu cabbage.
- a mouth-watering melktert desert, a traditional milk tart served with spiced berry compote.
The restaurant was decorated in African theme and African music was played. Professor Earle Gow drew the raffle and spot prizes which continued the African theme and included wines from the Western Cape area and African books - culinary, fiction, travel and history.
Five spot prizes were drawn at the African Feast: Ethiopian coffee, cocoa from Ghana, spices etc (Oxfam), coffee cups and gourmet nut bowls (Maxwell & Williams), book A Gift of African thoughts.
Proceeds from the feast: $550 and donations: $370
