Albury-Wodonga Library Collections
General Collection
Items marked A-W General on the catalogue are housed in the General Collection on Level Two and may be borrowed. Please see Library Services (Left-hand side of page) for a description of borrowing privileges according to your client group.
Some other high demand items may be restricted to 3 or 7 day loan periods.
This material is shelved on Level Two within the General collection. These
loans attract a higher fine if late and cannot be renewed.
Loans may not be transferred to another person and the borrower is solely responsible
for the safe-keeping of the item and its prompt return.
Dewey numbers are displayed at the end of each aisle to help with locating specific call numbers. Please ask for help at the Information Desk if an item cannot be found.
Journal Collection
Journals are situated in a separate Journals collection on Level Two in the Library. Journals are for use in the Library only - they cannot be borrowed. They can be located by searching the catalogue under the journal title or by performing a subject search and limiting the result by material type eg: wound [limit by serial].
Latest issues of journals are placed on display near the photo-copiers on
Level Two.
To identify relevant articles within a journal, use an electronic database or ask for help at the Information Desk.
The library has a large number of journals available online, in full text. Search for the title of the journal under the Title index on the catalogue. A hot link will appear on the title record if electronic access is available.
If the journal article that you want is not available locally or via an
online database, you can request a photo-copy from another La Trobe University
Library by completing a yellow form (available from the Information
or Loans Desks). You can also request this electronically via our Request Forms page.
Reference Collection
The Reference Collection includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, directories, statistical information and bibliographies. This material is situated in a separate Reference section on Level One and is for use in the Library only.
Special collections include Australian Bureau of Statistics publications and Commonwealth and State legislation. Please ask the Reference Staff for assistance in using these collections effectively.

Items on Reserve have A-W Reserve in the Location area on the item record on the catalogue.
Loans may not be transferred to another person and the borrower is solely responsible for the safe-keeping of the item and its prompt return.
