Are you information literate?

Students need the right skills to sort through the ever increasing information resources available.

Information literate students:

  • Can define and articulate the information they need.
  • Know where to look for information.
  • Can easily locate credible and relevant information on the internet.
  • Can make an informed decisions on information resources.
  • Know how to effectively organise information.
  • Are independent researchers.

Students often tell us that it would have been useful to know how to find relevant information earlier in their course. To help students develop their skills gradually as they progress through their course, the Library has developed an ‘information literacy policy’ to help improve our information literacy programs.
