Be considerate of others when using the library
It is THAT time of year. Final exams and assignments are looming. Don’t add to stress levels by making the library a noisy place to be.
Please be considerate of others when using the library. The Mezzanine and Level 2 are quiet study areas.

there is unfortunately to much noise on the mezzanine floor at times, it can be annoying!

It simply comes down to this – the Library is, or should be, a place for people who are there to WORK. This means that they should be engaged in finding materials, researching or reading through sources, or composing documents that they are required to submit for assessment. Anyone who is there to PLAY (that is, talking on mobiles, chatting to friends, tying up computers by using them for social activities etc.) should realise that their behaviour is detrimental to other students, anad that the best place for such activities is elsewhere. Isn’t that why we have a student union floor? Be quiet in the library – in doing so you are serving the needs of your fellow students.

The noise in the library is ridiculous. I thought they were quiet areas where students can research, concentrate and work without distraction. An “invisible” wall that separates quiet/non quiet areas doesn’t actually stop noise! I appreciate the need for areas for discussion etc but they need to be well separated from quiet study areas. I use the library nearly daily and this is a consistent source of angst!!
