Your new Bundoora Library space is on the way
What’s happening?
- Level 1 (ground floor) is closed. Collections and facilities from this level have been relocated, and building works have begun.
- Find out what the new Level 1 (ground floor) will include.
- Level 1 is expected to be completed by mid 2010. Work will then start on the south end of Level 2.
- The Library entrance is in the same place on Level 2, north side of the Agora. However, you will need to take alternate stairs (west or south side of Agora) or the lift (north-west side of Agora) to get to Level 2 as the stairs on the north side are blocked. The Library entrance will only move to Level 1 (ground floor) once building works on Level 1 have been completed.
- On Level 3, there are also big changes happening with the reorganisation of the call number order and shelving. This will mean some shelves will not be accessible for short periods and you will need to ask Library staff (or one of the extra staff with a red t-shirt on) for help to access some materials.
What’s changed, what’s where now?
- The Audiovisual desk (including AV Reserve and AV returns chutes) and Student IT support desks are now located alongside the main Inquiry Desk on Level 2.
- Print journals (serials) and government publications, 2000 to the present, are now located on Level 2 behind the Reference Collection. Other materials from these collections are either available electronically or have been relocated to the Bundoora Annexe.
- New books are in the foyer and new journals are behind the Research Help Desk on Level 2 (you can also see lists and request a hold online)
- Newspapers are now at the back (north end) of the Library behind the AV collection.
- Check new floor plans with service and collection locations in the Library foyer or online.
- PLEASE ASK at the Inquiry Desk if you need help to locate what you need!
All of the changes happening in the Library will mean more and better study spaces for students, less crowded shelves making materials easier to find, and a great new library space. We ask for your patience and understanding while these changes are happening and welcome your questions and feedback.
