Computer queues at Bundoora
Why are there queues for computers and printing in the Library at Bundoora? The queues are partly due to the Redevelopment Project.
All 54 of the computers from level 1 (now a building site) were relocated to level 2 over the summer. Staff have worked hard to ensure this happened in time for start of semester. This opportunity was used to replace 36 of the older computers with new ones. Unfortunately, due to a few software problems, their release for use has been held up. Getting these new computers operational is currently our highest priority.
We have attempted to provide more power points for laptop users. There have been more power points installed at the base of the west wall of level 2 (behind the boarded up stairway). This is not the most ideal location but it should make it easier for laptop users to recharge.
Additional printing is now also available on the east side of level 2, near the photocopy room.
We dislike queues as much as you do and we apologise for the inconvenience. We encourage you to use the Study Hall in Glenn College where there are computer workstations available, or come to the Library when it is less busy (e.g. before 11am or after 3pm).
The current situation is temporary and when the new space on level 1 is completed mid year there will be much more room for you to study comfortably.
If you have problems with Library computers, please let staff know at ICT Student Support, located next to the Inquiry Desk.
