New trial database- Oxford Dictionaries Online

The library now has trial access to Oxford Dictionaries Online until 30 September.

Oxford Dictionaries Online is Oxford’s premium online modern English dictionary and language reference service. Users can select the World English version or the US English version according to preference. The site offers quick search and advanced search, simple, intuitive browsing, and the ability to refine searches by subject, region, word class, and more.

A module on writing skills provides general users with straightforward advice on writing good English, while another dedicated module offers specialist language reference resources for professional writers and editors.

Please note that this product is not designed for use with Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 2. Recommended browsers are IE7 and later, Firefox 3, Safari and Opera 7.
