White Ribbon Day- Thursday, 25 November

Tomorrow is White Ribbon Day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

One in three Australian women will experience physical or sexual violence in her lifetime. The White Ribbon campaign aims to raise awareness among Australian men and boys about the roles they can play to prevent violence against women. The campaign calls for men across Australia to speak out and take an oath.

Over the last four years the university’s commitment to respectful relationships has resulted in a unique program, ‘This Place Nurtures Good Relationships’, which has worked with student leaders across the university to give them the skills and resources to take action to prevent violence against women.

Please join these student leaders and swear never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women and to wear a white ribbon or wristband as a visual symbol of your commitment.
