Level 3 due to reopen Tuesday 6/12 – Melbourne campus
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience suffered by Library users as a result of the carpet replacement on Level 3.
We now expect Level 3 to reopen by Tuesday 6 December, once air quality testing is completed. Library staff may be able to retrieve some items on Monday 5 December.
If you urgently need books from the General Collection on Level 3, please call us on 9479 2922 or speak to staff at the Inquiry Desk. You can also email us your requests via library@latrobe.edu.au and we can place the holds for them so that you only have to come in to collect the material.
Level 3 is a very large floor space and the removal of old carpet and associated dust has taken longer than expected. There are also safety and OHS concerns that need to be taken into account.
Please be assured that our aim is always to cause the least disruption to Library users possible, and we apologise again for any inconvenience caused during these works.

Melbourne campus – Level 3 of Library CLOSED 25 Nov to 5 Dec for carpet removal
UPDATE: Level 3 will be closed until 5 December. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Are you likely to need to borrow any books from the General Collection at Bundoora in the next week or two? We suggest you plan ahead
and borrow NOW - before 25 November or wait until the Library re-opens on 30 November!
Due to the need to remove old carpet from Level 3 of the Library, this level will be CLOSED to all users from 8am Friday 25 November and re-opens at 8am Wednesday 30 November
There will be NO ACCESS to general collection books for all users for these days.
Once the carpet is removed from the open area, Level 3 will again be open for use. However, some sections of shelves will be progressively closed over the summer until mid January as each section is lifted to allow for new carpet tiles to be laid.
During this closed period, Library staff at the Inquiry Desk will be able to place holds for you on material you require. You can either place a hold on material to be collected on the Wednesday when we again have access to Level 3, or make a request to other Libraries via BONUS+ or the regional campus libraries.
Level 1 and Level 2 of the Library will be fully operational and unaffected by the work.
The recarpeting is part of the cyclical maintenance of University building infrastructure. The carpet on Level 3 dates back to when the Library was first opened. The new carpet tiles, matching the tiles currently on Level 1, will revitalise the area and remove the unsightly tape over holes and different unmatched carpet currently in place.
We will keep you informed of progress on this project and apologise for any inconvenience.

- Cambridge Companions to Philosophy, Religion and Culture offers specially-commissioned collections of essays intended to serve as reference works for an inter-disciplinary audience of students and non-specialists.
