How to Book a Study Room/Carrel/Booth from the Library Catalogue

Study Rooms/Booths or Carrels are available at the Melbourne Campus Library. Book online, or phone the Inquiry Desk.

To check room names, numbers and locations check the floorplans.

  1. Select which Room/Booth or Carrel in the Library catalogue you would like to book.
  2. Select "Book this material".
    (Do not select the 'Location' or 'Call No' links)

    Selecting "View additional copies or search for a specific volume/copy" will show all entries.
  3. Enter Username and password (these are used for StudentOnline, LMS and email etc) and Select "Submit"
  4. Select Date and time. (Remember to select AM/PM.) Select "Submit"
  5. Select a Study Carrel/Room/Booth and then select "Submit" (This screen will only show study carrels/booths/rooms available at booking time)
  6. The following message shows successful booking. Select "OK"

Bookings can be viewed and cancelled from "My Library" on the library homepage

Booking limits

Study Carrels

  • Undergraduates - 3 hours a day
  • Postgraduates - 8 hours a day
  • Some study carrels will be available for extended use during summer vacation.

Group study rooms & Study Booths

  • 3 hours per booking, 2 bookings at a time
    Please note: Study Booths bookings have priority over walk in users.

Viewing Rooms

  • 3 hours per booking, 2 bookings at a time.
