Keyword Search in the Library Catalogue
Use this option in order to look throughout the catalogue record for your keyword(s).
The words can be combined in the ways shown below.
Use the limits for a more efficient search. Assistance with truncation and using boolean operators (and, or & not) is also available.

| Operators | Use "or" between words to find "any of these words" in any field, in any order. Use "and not" to exclude words. Parentheses ( ) group words together when using Boolean operators. |

| Truncation | Words may be right-hand truncated using an asterisk. Use a single asterisk * to truncate from 1-5 characters. Use a double asterisk ** for open-ended truncation. |

| Wildcards | A question mark ? matches any single character in the specified position in the word. A single asterisk * wildcard can also be embedded in a search string. |
anders?n would match both "anderson" and "andersen"
colo*r would match both "color" and "colour" |
| Proximity | Use " near " to specify words within 10 words of each other in the same field, in any order. Use " within # " to specify terms which occur within # words of each other in the record. The " before " and " after " operators are used to retrieve records that contain the specified words or phrases in a particular order in the record. Any number of words can appear between the specified words or phrases. |
