What is My Library?
Please note that this function is not available to Mildura and Shepparton clients.
You can use My Library to Search the catalogue or view your:
- Loans
- Holds
- Fines
- Borrowing History Disclaimer
- Saved Search Queries & Alerts available to staff, post graduate & honour students
- Search the Catalogue
Select My Library from the Library home page.

Or from the Catalogue search page.

Staff and students of La Trobe University
You will need to authenticate using your username and password.
Other Borrowers (including Foundation & Language students)
You will need to authenticate using your name, student/staff ID and your Library PIN.
Loans
Any items you have checked out will be displayed showing the Due Date. To renew an individual item, tick the appropriate box and select Renew Selected or simply renew all the items by selecting Renew All.
Holds
Select Holds to view any items you have requested. This will show the Status of your request and also when it is available to be picked up.
To cancel an individual item, tick the appropriate box and select Cancel Selected or simply cancel all the items by selecting Cancel All.
Borrowing History
If you would like to be able to view a list of items that you have previously borrowed, then you need to set up Borrowing History.
- Setting up Borrowing History
Simply select Start Borrowing History once you have logged into My Library. The next time you borrow an item, it will be saved in your history and you can view it by selecting Borrowing History.
Note: Only items you borrow after you have selected Start Borrowing History will appear in your list.
- Deleting items in your Borrowing History
Select Borrowing History to view items you have borrowed.
To delete an individual item, tick the appropriate box and select Delete Marked History or simply delete all the items by selecting Delete All History.
- Stopping your Borrowing History
If you no longer want to record your Borrowing History it is necessary to delete all the items in your list first.
Select Borrowing History to view items you have borrowed. Delete all the items by selecting Delete All History and then select Stop Borrowing History.
Disclaimer: Participation in the Borrowing History service, which allows you, the user, to track your own borrowing history, is entirely voluntary. You may initiate or terminate use of this service, as well as delete any or all of the entries in your own Borrowing History, at any time. By opting in to the use of the Borrowing History service, you consent to the storage of your borrowing history data. Such data is subject to all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including, without limitation, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic), as well as your library's policies.
Saved Search Queries & Alerts
This facility is only available to staff, post graduate and honours students. It allows you to save a search of the Library catalogue and be alerted by email whenever a new item matching that search is added to the collection. You can also use that search again from within My Library.
Select My Library and login. Use the search option to search for an item, you can also modify and limit the search. Once you are happy with the search query, select Save Search Query.
Now when you login to My Library, select Saved Search Queries for a list of your preferred searches. You can now Mark for Email or select Search to do the search again. Individual search queries can be marked and removed, or you can select Remove All Searches.
Search the Catalogue
You can search the Library catalogue from within My Library without the need to return to the catalogue home screen. This means you can save search queries and request holds, make a booking and view restricted material without re-entering login details.
