What is Google Scholar?
Google Scholar searches scholarly literature across all areas of research including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports, articles from variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.
Are you off campus/at home?
La Trobe Library links automatically show in your search results when you search Google Scholar on campus.

- Full text @ La Trobe shows that full text is available
- Find it @ La Trobe may indicate that a print version is available - click to see the Library Catalogue
- Go to Google Scholar and click Scholar Preferences.

- In the Library Links search box search for la trobe.

- Tick the checkbox for the option La Trobe University Library (Full text @ La Trobe)
- Click Save Preferences
I can't return back to the Google Search Results?
If you are having trouble returning back to the Google Search results list, there is an option in the Google Scholar preferences that forces the results into a new browser window, leaving your search results list untouched.
- Go to Google Scholar and click Scholar Preferences.
- Under "Results Window" select "Open search results in a new browser window"
- Click Save Preferences
