LibSearch
Find books, ebooks, journal and newspaper articles and more with just one search!
Search across a wide range of our publications, a great starting point for your research.
However as it's new, it doesn't (yet!) search in our entire list of databases. You still may need to perform a search in a database from our A-Z database list.
You can watch a quick video demo to get you started using LibSearch.
Having trouble accessing full text, using Internet Explorer?
I'm entering the right username and password but I can't access the online article or text.
Security settings in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser may restrict your access to full text online resources from the Library. The following steps are for Internet Explorer 8 and 9 and will ensure that your browser settings always allow access to full text. Earlier versions of Internet Explorer will also allow you to determine privacy settings for La Trobe University Library in a similar manner.
Step 1
- Look for the Tools icon (Internet Explorer 9) on the right side of the screen or the "Tools" button (Internet Explorer 8 or previous).
- Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
- In the "Internet Options" pop-up, click on the "Privacy" tab.
- Then click on the "Sites" button.
- Type or paste the La Trobe University website address http://www.latrobe.edu.au and click "Allow".
Step 3
- Check that "latrobe.edu.au" is set to "Always Allow" and click OK.
- Close all pop up boxes by clicking the 'OK' button.
NOTE: If you continue to experience problems accessing full text, contact the Library.

FAQ
I searched for a journal title because I want to browse it, and it wasn't found.
To find a link to a journal, as opposed to articles in a journal, use the Advanced Search and type the journal name in the With these words in the title box. Next, select "Items in the library catalogue" (or "Web resource" for ejournals).
The items at the top of the results are all too old. How can I get new material?
Use the date slider on the left hand menu and click Update, or use the Relevance picklist at the top-right of the results to change to Date (newest)
The results page never finishes loading. I'm using Internet Explorer 8
Turn off Compatibility view (Tools > Compatibility view)
I still can't find what I need!
Try the Library catalogue or find tips and information from our LibGuides. You can always Ask a Librarian or chat online for more help.
