In this module you will be shown the importance of keywords. You will learn how to identify appropriate keywords from an assignment topic and how to search for items to match those keywords in the library catalogues.

You will also learn how to combine keywords in order to narrow or broaden your searches. This helps you to retrieve only those items relevant to your task.

Keyword searching is also a useful way of searching databases. Other modules in this tutorial will show you how to use databases for your research.
