Accessing Collections
Government Publications stored at the Library Annexe
The lower use 'Bundoora General' collection materials (as outlined on the What's moving page) that are being transferred from Level 3 to the onsite compactus located on Level 1 (ground floor) of the Library will be retrievable and borrowable by placing a 'hold' via the Library catalogue.
Materials transferred to the Library Annexe are also retrievable and borrowable.
The following information outlines the procedure for accessing materials held at the Annexe:
Journal articles
For online delivery of journal articles located in the Annexe, complete the online Intercampus/ Annexe Request Form.
Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email with the attached article.
Books and journal volumes
For physical items, please enquire at the Inquiry/ Loans desk(s) at your campus library.
Books and journal volumes/issues held at the Library Annexe are available for loan in accordance with the normal borrowing rules. Material requested for retrieval will be delivered to the requesting campus library's "Hold" shelf.
Lecturers can request materials required to support educational teaching programs be returned to the Melbourne library for inclusion in the Reserve Collection.
Delivery time
Physical items will normally be retrieved and returned to the "Hold" shelf Melbourne (Bundoora) Reserve area within 24 hours for pick up after 1pm.
Material supplied to Albury-Wodonga and Bendigo libraries, will be delivered within 48 hours. The 24 hour delivery standard also applies to requests supplied online.
Requests submitted after 10:00am on Friday will be processed on the next normal business day. Requests will not be processed on weekends or public holidays.
Returning loans
Material borrowed from the Library Annexe can be returned to the Melbourne, Albury- Wodonga and Bendigo Campus Libraries.
Onsite use
La Trobe University teaching staff and postgraduate students are welcome to consult the collection by organising an appointment at the Inquiry desk or by calling 9479 2922.
