Printing at Melbourne
Please note that all printers are switched off 15 minutes prior to the Library closing time.
How to Print
La Trobe University Staff and Students are issued with a La Trobe Card, which provides access to a Transact La Trobe account. You can print using credit on your Transact La Trobe account; add credit to the account using one of the reload machines in the library or elsewhere on campus. See Transact La Trobe for more details.
Visitors and CAVAL users may purchase a card for $2 which connects them to an account. This account has enough credit to print three A4 sheets and is rechargeable. It can be used for both printing and photocopying. Please note the card number in the bottom left hand corner which you will need to provide in case of difficulties or loss of the card. If you wish to personalise the account so that it can be identified by the account name you give it rather than the number on the card, contact Cafe Digital.
Where to Print
There are black and white printers available on all levels of the Library and are identified by a large banner overhead. There is one colour printer located in the Photocopying Room on Level 2.
- Printing is available from most workstations in the Library.
- Black and white printing can be collected from any of the black and white printers. Colour printing must be collected from the colour printer in the Photocopying Room on Level 2.
- Printing can be paid for by using credit on your Transact La Trobe account.
- Print jobs are only stored in the printer queue for 90 minutes, after which time they are deleted.
Care of cards
All cards should be treated with care during their lifetime and not subjected to crushing, bending, excessive heat, immersion in water, etc.
Damaged La Trobe Cards should be presented to staff at the Student Hub.
Mechanical difficulties
Please refer any problems with printing quality, paper jams, or machine breakdowns to the staff on the Inquiry Desk.
