<i>Recess!</i> - exploring the cultures of childhood

Abstract

Recess! is a nationally distributed public radio program about "the dynamic cultures of childhood," which has recently recorded its 2000th episode. Aimed at an adult audience, Recess! recalls for its listeners their own early passions and inspirations while also reflecting on the cultures in which today's young people are discovering the world around them and their ever changing places within it.

Author Biography

Ramona Anne Caponegro, University of Florida
Ramona Anne Caponegro is a PhD student in children's literature and culture at the University of Florida where her research focuses on lessons and depictions of social justice provided for children and teens. She is also the assistant producer of Recess! and the research assistant for the Center for Children's Literature and Culture.
