Facilities for people with disabilities and special needs Podcast Transcript

The Borchardt Library offers many services and facilities for people with disabilities or special needs. We encourage you to contact library staff early in the year to organise a tour or discuss individual requirements.

Services include: extended loan periods, a photocopying service, book and journal retrievals, assistance with searching the Library catalogue, and locating items in other libraries. Some of these services require appointments, so please refer to the website for further details and contact numbers: http://www.lib.latrobe.edu.au/bundoora/disabled-facilities.php.

Facilities include-

  • Wheelchair access. There is a lift located inside the library which provides access to all floors.
  • A number of information workstations on level 2 are suitable for wheelchair access.
  • Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on Levels 1 and 3.
  • A tactile indicator is located in the entrance of the Library.
  • To avoid waiting in queues disabled students can reserve computer workstations 41 and 42, on level 2 of the library. Book at the Inquiries Desk, or by calling 9479 2922.
  • An Equity & Access Room with specialised equipment is available in the Audiovisual section.
