BONUS+ Borrowing Scheme

BONUS+ is a resource-sharing project that enables the lending of selected library material among the staff and students of participating Australian and New Zealand Universities.

If the book you need is not held at any of our La Trobe University Libraries, or is out on loan, you can easily request it online from another BONUS+ Library. You then collect it a few days later from your selected Pickup Location.

How do I request an item?
  • Search the Library catalogue
  • If the book you require is not available, in the catalogue click on Find it @ BONUS+ and the search is repeated in the BONUS+ catalogue.
  • Select REQUEST THIS ITEM.
  • Select La Trobe University.
  • Click Submit above information
  • Enter your LTU username and password
  • Choose your Pickup Location
  • Click Submit

Your request should be available to collect from the designated library within 7 working days. You will be notified via email when it is ready to pick up. BONUS+ items can be returned at any La Trobe University Library branch.

Off campus student/staff:

  • Eligible patrons must complete the Eligibility for remote delivery online form before requesting.
  • When requesting, choose your closest campus as the Pickup Location, eg. City Campus patrons should choose Bundoora holdshelf.
  • When you receive an email alert to advise a book is ready for collection please advise the relevant campus Interlending and Document Delivery Service so that delivery can be arranged to your correct location

  • Items may be on loan for a maximum 21 days.
  • An additional 21 day renewal may be requested via My Library if other users have not reserved the item or it has not been recalled by the lending library.
  • All loans are subject to recall by the lending institution at any time.
  • Items are returned to any La Trobe University campus library.
  • $125 will be imposed for billed or lost books ($100 replacement cost plus $25 processing fee).
  • Fines apply to overdue material at the same rates of accrual as 14 day and 28 day loans.
How do I check or cancel a BONUS+ request?

By using My Library you may:

  • View the status of your BONUS+ requests. Items with the status RECV'D are ready for pickup.
  • Cancel a request if the item still has a REQUESTED status
