Using Electronic Reserve

Electronic Reserve is an online service provided by the Library that allows La Trobe University students and staff access to:

  • Journal articles that fall within Copyright Regulations
  • Book chapters and/or selected pages from requested books that fall within Copyright Regulations
  • Lecture notes and course notes.
  • Selected audio and video programs as requested by teaching staff.
How to Find Electronic Reserve Items

You can find materials on Electronic Reserve through the library catalogue in a number of different ways. We recommend:

  • Select Unit Materials from the Library Homepage
  • Type in the appropriate information eg. POL2TWP in the Unit Materials search box
  • Look for your unit code Electronic Reserve e.g. POL2TWP (Electronic Reserve) as other items could have been requested for the same unit for 3 hour and/or 3 day loan.
  • If there are a number of lists please check each page as they will display in the order that they were added to the catalogue. Select the list/s that you want to access.
Accessing Electronic Reserve Off Campus

Electronic Reserve material can be accessed off campus. Your computer should meet the Recommended computer requirements, in order to read, listen and watch these resources e. g. Adobe Acrobat Reader and RealOne networks player.

Note: La Trobe University students and staff are able to access Electronic Reserve from off campus with authentication.
