Services to Alfred/Austin Clinical School Students

Many La Trobe University Library resources and services are available online, including access to the catalogue, electronic journals, databases and Internet resources. Additional University Library services are offered to students who are undertaking clinical experience at the Alfred or Austin Hospitals.

Both the Hospital Libraries and the Bundoora Campus University Library stock texts required by La Trobe University nursing students. In addition, students can request copies of journal articles from the Bundoora Campus Library collection, and have books sent by courier for pick up at the Hospital Libraries. This is one of the services explained here.

Who is eligible for this service?

Additional library services are offered to third and fourth-year Bachelor of Nursing students who are undertaking their studies and clinical placement at the Alfred or Austin Hospitals for most of the semester. Please contact Interlending & Document Delivery Staff if you would like verification of eligibility.

How to request assistance for a literature search

The list sent out will not guarantee an exhaustive search.

Many databases are accessible online to authenticated La Trobe University clients. Try the Library's introduction to basic research skills using Library Skills Online.
