Access to Databases and the Library Catalogue

To access the databases, you will need to authenticate yourself as a La Trobe University student, with a La Trobe University student ID number and Library PIN.

Students have access to a large number of databases and full text journals in the areas of management and technology. These are available from computer workstations located within the Library. Many of these resources are also accessible off campus via the library website and online training tutorials.

Borrowing

Students are entitled to the standard borrowing privileges available to La Trobe University Postgraduate/Masters students, and can borrow in person with a Library Card from any campus library. You will need to identify yourself at the Loans/Inquiry Desks and request a Library Card. Please note this must be done Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm.

You can also access information via My Library, of items currently on loan, renew items, view holds and fines.

Borrowing from Other Libraries

Students living more than 50km from a La Trobe campus library can request items online via the library website (or by fax, email or phone) and receive loans* and photocopies of items via the mail service and free of charge.

As postgraduates, the students are also eligible for the Interlending and Document Delivery Service which provides access to material held at other Australian libraries (either loans* or photocopies).

In addition, library staff can assist in arrangements for students to borrow in person from other Australian academic libraries if more convenient. See the Loans/Inquiry Desks at any La Trobe campus library.

*Loan of items is not available to students who are not resident in Australia.
