Students Undertaking Short Courses
The Library provides services for students undertaking non-award courses at the Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo and Bundoora campuses. These include short courses, continuing education and professional development courses. All students must show proof that they are enrolled in a short course at La Trobe University.

University Library Service
Upon payment of a fee, this service level provides access to library services and resources, including
- The loan of material from the General/Main, Reserve, Audiovisual, Government Publications and Storage Collections at the campus libraries. Conditions of loan vary with the type of collection.
- Off campus access to databases. Access to some resources is permitted. Clients are required to observe the licence agreements.
Use of many of these resources is governed by licence agreements, which restrict their use to the La Trobe University community and to individuals who use the La Trobe University Libraries' facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure that they use these products only for individual, non-commercial use without systematically downloading, distribution, or retaining substantial portions of information.
- Access to intercampus loans and copying service.
Library Tours
Academic and teaching staff may arrange tours for students by contacting the Research Help Desk. At least 2 working days notice must be given.

Loan conditions and your responsibilities
Items borrowed from the Loans/Inquiry Desks and Self Check out machines are issued with a clearly labeled due date slip. All items must be returned or renewed on or before this due date. All overdue items incur fines. An item on loan to any one person may not be transferred to another. The person to whom the loan is made is solely responsible for the safe-keeping and due return of the item. Loans will only be issued to the valid card owner.Renewals
Books are renewable three times on or before the due date. Books will not be renewed when they are on hold for another client.
How to renew books
There are three ways to renew books:
- Online using the My Library facility.
- Note: When renewing books via the internet make sure the new due date is displayed beside each item as this confirms the renewal. The Library takes no responsibility for client error when they attempt to renew their own items.
- Present your Library Card to the Loans/Inquiry Desks, with or without the items to be renewed.
- Telephone the Library Loans/Inquiry Desks.
