What is Electronic Reserve?

Electronic Reserve is a collection of high use material. Items are digitised at the request of teaching staff, to ensure that recommended reading material is available online. Accessing electronic reserve material is only available to La Trobe University students.

The Electronic Reserve Collection includes:

  • Digitised Book chapters
  • Digitised Journal articles
  • Lecture notes (as supplied by lecturing staff in PDF format, Bundoora Campus only)

Accessing electronic reserve material is restricted to La Trobe University Students and Staff only.

How to request material to be added to the Electronic Reserve?

Requests to add material to Electronic Reserve can be made by using the Request Forms provided.

When do requests for material need to be submitted?

While staff endeavour to process Electronic Reserve lists promptly, the early months of semesters are extremely busy, with a lot of teaching staff requesting material. In order for material to be available for the beginning of semester, any new requests should be submitted 5-6 weeks before required. All lists are processed in order of receipt.

How do I see a list of items requested for Electronic Reserve?
  • Choose Reserve to search the Catalogue from the Library home page
  • Type your surname, initial in the box for Search by Lecturer

If you teach more than one subject, a separate Electronic Reserve or Reserve List for each subject will appear. You will need to access each of your lists separately. For each list, a number of titles should appear in alphabetical order.

What do I do if I want to add additional/new material for my Electronic Reserve list?

To request additional material to be added to current or new Electronic Reserve list/s, submit through the Request Forms provided.
