Off Campus / Off Shore Services
Off campus services are available to all La Trobe University students and staff while they are not on campus (for example: from their home, office or Internet cafe).
Core services for Off Campus Clients
All clients, while off campus, have access to a range of library services electronically via the Library website. These include:
- Web catalogue
- Databases and full text material for which access is allowed off campus
- Guides to subject resources
- General online help with computer and technical problems, using the catalogue and other searching and information management tools
- Self paced tutorials, such as Library Skills Online
- Contact links and Ask Us facility.
Services to Remote Off Campus Students
If you live in Australia, live more than 50km from any La Trobe University campus and are not attending a campus on a regular basis, you are eligible for some additional services as a Remote Off Campus student.
In addition to the Core Services for Off Campus clients, you are also eligible for:
- Assistance with literature searches by Subject Librarians
- Delivery (postal or electronic) of copies of journal articles and books held in the La Trobe University Library collection. Login with your University Username and Password.
- Delivery (postal or electronic) of copies of journal articles and books held in other libraries for eligible postgraduate students. Login with your University Username and Password.
Normal borrowing periods apply for the loan of books. This is a 2 week loan for undergraduates and a 4 week loan for postgraduates, with the option of 3 renewals, unless the item is on hold or recalled.
For loans and copies of journal articles from other libraries, postgraduate students may also request items from the Interlending and Document Delivery Service. Login using your University Username and Password.
Services to Off Shore Students
If you live outside Australia and you are studying, researching or being taught by La Trobe University staff, or by staff employed by, or employed in consultation with La Trobe University, you are eligible for Off Shore Student Services.
You are also eligible for:
- Assistance with literature searches by Subject Librarians
- Delivery (postal or electronic) of copies of journal articles held in the La Trobe University Library collection. Login with your University Username and Password.
- Delivery (postal or electronic) of copies of journal articles held in other libraries for eligible postgraduate students. Login with your University Username and Password.
Please note that book loans, including loans from other libraries, are not available to Off Shore Students.
