Research Study
As part of the refurbishment of the Library at the Melbourne campus, two new study spaces have been created on Level 2 (south or Agora end) - an Academic staff study and a Postgraduate study for higher degree by research students.
We welcome and encourage academic staff and higher degree by research students from all campuses to the Library to use these spaces. They are available during standard Library opening hours (8am-10 pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-6pm Friday, 11am-5pm weekends). No bookings required.
Academic staff study facilities
A quiet space with one computer workstation and more to come, and comfortable couches where you can use a laptop.
- 1 computer workstation (4 more to come soon)
- Wireless access and powerpoints for laptops
- Casual seating (2 lounges)
- Casual meeting room seating 6-8 people (no booking required)
- Internal phone
- Printing and copying nearby
- Kitchenette with kettle (BYO tea and coffee) available in adjacent Postgraduate study
- Ensuite bathroom
- Access is by your staff card. Most staff cards have been recorded into the system to work when swiped over the device near the door.
However, if your card does not work when swiped, please do one of the following actions:
- Apply to cardaccess@latrobe.edu.au directly, or
- Ring any of the following numbers 2012 or 1141 or 6632
- No booking required.
- 4 workstation cubicles and 5 study tables, all with PCs
- Casual seating
- Wireless access and internal phone
- Printing and copying nearby
- Kitchenette with kettle, cups etc available (BYO tea and coffee).
- Toilets, including accessible toilets, available nearby.
- Access to this space is for higher degree by research students. Other postgraduate students are welcome to book other Library study rooms. Cards for students enrolled in this category have been recorded into the system to work when swiped over the device near the door. However, if your card does not work when swiped, please ask at the Inquiry Desk on Level 1.
