Details

The inquiry was established to look into the systems of the Tasmanian Department of Education in relation to the risk of child sexual abuse of students at Tasmanian Government schools, with a view to recommending actions that may be taken to minimise the risk.

Findings
Due to legal impediments relating to confidentiality and the way the inquiry was conducted, the Final Report has not been published.

Recommendations
20 recommendations were made about improving the Education Department's practices and providing children and young people with the strongest possible safeguards from the harm of abuse.
