Text

Translation

Getting up in the morning I saw the beautiful one
who was looking at herself in a fountain:
very daintily she was using it as a mirror.

She was barefoot, half undressed, with her arms bare
and with her tresses unkempt around her face:
she looked as if she was coming out of Paradise.

She had a garland of dark violets:
may God send her my way another time!
