Text

Sal so quel monte che fiorise l'erba
zentile e bella, quando vert· vuole.
Naque quel fior ch'F d'onni vert· bianc=.

Iust'el doler, che me trafinze 'l fianco
en danno me convert'oni to bene.

Translation

A gentle and fair lady, as virtue allows it.
ascends the mountain with the flowery meadows.
The white flower is born, sign of all virtue.

Only the pain which pierces my breast
turns all your kindness towards me into grief.
