Text

N'en fait n'en dit n'en pensee
Onques ne faussay.
Vers ma dame desiree.
Ne ja ne feray.
Eins yert de cuer vray
De moy servie et amee.
Tant com je vivray.

Car sa face coulouree
Plus que rose en may.
De toute biaute paree
Et de maintieng gay.
M'a pris; bien le scay;
S'en sera de moy loee.
Tant com je vivray.

Certes, mout aim la journee
Que je l'enamay
Et qu'a li sans decevree
Cuer et corps donnay.
Quar de l'espoir qu'ay
Sera ma joie doublee.
Tant com je vivray.

Translation

Neither in deed nor word nor thought
Was I ever false
Towards my desired lady.
Nor will I ever be;
Rather with a true heart will she be
Served and loved by me
So long as I shall live.

For her face, blushing
More than a rose in May.
Adorned with all beauty
And happy in manner.
Has captured me; well I know it;
And for that it will be praised by me
So long as I shall live.

Indeed, much do I love the day
When I fell in love with her
And when to her without deceit
I gave my heart and body;
For with the hope I have
My joy will be doubled
So long as I shall live.
