Text

Qual novita cor duro ad amar move?

L'onesto render di salute, acceso
d'amoroso parlare.
con intelletto e benigno guardare
da dolci razi acceso.
Cotal virt· sentir fa d'amor nove.

Translation

What novel inducement can move a hard heart to love?

The modest return of one's greeting, burning
with amorous language;
a look given with benign intentions
by sweet luminous eyes.
Such acts are powerful signs of love.
