Una smaniosa e insensata vecchia
ha tolto in caccia 'l mie gentil amore
con ira invidios'e con furore.

Essa nel viso d'un vechio si specchia.
faccendo per piacergli astuta guarda:
cos8 quel mal vissuto s'ingagliarda.

Per guardar la mie donna han fatto lega
el vechio 'mpront'e l'arabbiata strega.

Translation

A frenzied and insane old woman
has taken to torment my gentle love
with envious rancour and fury.

She, face to face with an old man
whom she wishes to please, keeps a cunning watch:
so that depraved old man grows bolder.

The obnoxious wretch and the rancorous witch
have joined together in watching over my woman.
