Text

Poc'hanno di mirar gli ochi mie stanchi
gli alti balconi e la turba vie manchi.

Pensoso vo cercando 'l vago viso.
che di fatto mi prese con suo vista.
poi sotto 'l brun s'asconde: ond'io conquiso
rimango sconsolato e l'alma trista.
Ma se l'usata vesta si raquista.
spero i mie disii saranno franchi.

Translation

Neither the high balconies nor even the crowds
have made my eyes much tired of looking.

I go around wrapped in thoughts, searching for her beautiful face.
which actually captured me when I saw it.
Then it hid under dark garments, so that I, having been conquered.
remain disconsolate and sad.
But, if she puts on her usual clothes.
I hope my desires will be fulfilled.
